An investor bought an office block in Woodmead and wanted two things out of it: tenants who don’t sit in the dark when the grid goes down, and a smaller electricity bill. We sized a system around a 60kW FOX ESS Beast inverter, 80kWh of FOX HV batteries and 150× 535W AIKO all-black panels — an 80kWp array.
The array produces enough to run the whole building during the day, heaters and all, while still charging the batteries for the evening and for outages.
The install had its tricky bit: a high-pitch slate roof. We worked off anchors and harnesses the whole way, and had slate specialists on hand to replace any tiles that cracked as we went, so the roof stayed watertight.
